The Ghost of Buxton Manor book review

I wanted to post something I thought was really special. I had sent my newest novel “The Ghost of Buxton Manor”to Alex Oliveira in exchange for a honest review. Not only was her review amazing but she fell in love with the real story of Rupert Buxton and Michael Davies just as Aaron and I had. Alex is a talented writer herself and wrote a poem based off the story and (with her permission) I wanted to share it with all of you. Here is her poem as well as a link to her website. Go check her out!

“Remembering Peter Pan” by Alex Oliveira

and perhaps, one day
you might have liked to grow
and share your Neverland
with someone you’d come to know

but was life ever fair
to boys who were lost
granted, you discovered yourself
but at what cost?

they said to never say goodbye
and to never go away
but they forgot to warn you
sometimes life won’t let you stay

and you’ll never be forgotten
because we all believe
with a bit of fairy dust
in our Neverland, you’ll forever live.

The Blackwell Family Secret continues…

I just wanted to give everyone an update on The Blackwell Family Secret Book 2. I just signed a contract with Dragonwell Publishing to be release sometime this year! I’m really excited for this book. I spent two and a half years working on it and I couldn’t be more proud of what it has become. I can’t wait for all of you to read it and hear what you think. It has been an amazing journey, even more so now that I can share it with all of you. I’ll keep all of you update throughout the process and I hope to see all of you at the release party! 🙂

Book 1 The Blackwell Family Secret: The Guardians of Sin (synopsis)

Seven deadly sins have been unleashed, and the only one who can defeat them is the boy who set them free.
Nicholas Blackwell has no idea he is supposed to fulfill a destiny. All he knows is that he draws trouble like a magnet. Orphaned at seven when two demonic men killed his parents, he copes with the strict rules of his new home, St. Christopher’s academy, unaware that he has been the real target for the killers and that his guardian angel has saved him in the nick of time. And now, his problems are only beginning when a mysterious serpent lures him into the woods and tricks him into a demonic ritual that will unleash the Seven Deadly Sins to destroy the humankind. Nicholas has no choice but to correct his mistake–or die trying.
Aided by Amy, a shy but determined girl who seems to know more about his task than she should, Nicholas’s quest is to travel into the City of Demonio and defeat the Seven Guardians of Sin. To succeed, he must confront demons, monsters, and lost souls, learn the mysteries of the Chapel of Dreams, discover the true meaning of friendship and love, and face the darkest secret of all: the Blackwell Family Secret.

Disney Announces next Live-Action film……..GENIES!

“But, oh, to be free! Not to have to go “Poof! What do you need?”, “Poof! What do you need?”, “Poof! What do you need?” To be my own master. Such a thing would be greater than all the magic and all the treasures in all the world! But what am I talking about? Let’s get real here, it’s not gonna happen. Genie, wake up and smell the hummus.” -Genie

Alright guys, hang on to your flying carpets, because we are about to set off for the ride of our lives!!! That’s right, the Genie has been unleashed from the lamp, and granting you your first wish. What wish? Well…how about a live-action prequel to one of Walt Disney Studios’ most beloved classics—Aladdin!!

Genie of the LAAAAAAMP! Yup, it’s happening. Disney has officially announced the prequel GENIES. First of all, I’m excited! I love that Disney has been going back to their classics and redoing them into live-action while twisting their stories a bit. Although a lot of people didn’t enjoy Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland(the first live-action in these new installments) I found it FANTASTIC! I couldn’t even have imagined a better person than Burton. I think he did wonderfully in capturing Disney’s animated feature and Lewis Carroll’s original masterpiece. With that said, I wasn’t impressed with Maleficent. At least, it wasn’t what I was hoping for. Cinderella was cute, but I won’t find myself running to purchase a copy. I’m really excited for Emma Watson in her role as Belle from the live-ation Beauty and the Beast (still hoping this will be an untold story explaining Beast’s background like Disney had originally promised). And now Genies!!

For this to work we need to have a Genie that has the same spirit of Robin Williams. I mean, let’s face it, Williams was the soul of the animated film. Although I’m extremely skeptical of another actor as Genie, I am still very excited for the untold story about how Genie managed to get himself trapped in the lamp and how that lamp found its way into the Cave of Wonders. Please, oh please, be good! Because the film is still in the beginning stages there is much we don’t know about the movie.

If anyone knows something I don’t, please share. I need to know! How does everyone else feel about the movie concept?

Oops! I almost forgot. The supposed plan is for Genies to be the prequel to a live-action Aladdin.

*Screams like a school girl.

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s a whole new world—Pun intended— ; )
