JK Rowling Announces Four New Wizardry Schools from Around the World

I think this is absolutely amazing! J.K. Rowling (my hero) just announced four new wizardry schools, enriching her already amazing, fantastical world. I love it! I had so much fun reading about them. A big thanks to Darin for sharing this with me via Facebook.

Not only does Rowling go into each academy, sharing its unique characteristics, but we get to know exactly where these schools exist. I can tell you, growing up reading Harry Potter, I always wondered what school I would go to. After all, we here in America didn’t have a wizardry school for a long time. I felt a little out of the loop, but Rowling doesn’t hold back. She takes us back into a journey into the world of Harry Potter. Be sure to read about these school on the link below.

[I guess Aaron and I are headed to Ilvermorny in North America]

Alright, so I’m kind of dreading this. I am solely doing this for Darin because I’m a good sport and I’m willing to deal with my embarrassment for some laughs. What’s it about? Well, it’s a about my acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.  Yup, that’s right!

I was young–I can’t stress that enough. I don’t think I was eleven, but probably a little older (I’m sure to old for this to happen). If I remember correctly I got good grades and so my mom wanted to surprise me with something. She ordered me a wand–My very own Harry Potter wand. However, I didn’t know about this. Not in the slightest. If my memory serves me well, I was getting ready for school, went out to walk my dog, when I found a package on our doorstep. Yup, it was addressed to me. Now, I don’t remember exactly how old I was, but I do remember this being a surprise because it wasn’t often I received a package in the mail. So, I took the package up to my room and began to open it. Inside the box was a thin, rectangular shaped box(very fancy looking). Honest to God, it looked like it was taken right out of Ollivander’s Wand shop. I opened the box, parted the lace and discovered my wand. My eyes were trembling. I peeked down and there was a letter, “Dear Mr. Ferrara we are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.”

And…I thought I really had been.

I dropped my letter and flicked my wand shouting the first spell that came to mind—

Accio! Sectumsempra! Stupefy! Expecto Patronum!

Nothing happened. But that was quite alright because I knew it was only because I hadn’t gotten to Hogwarts yet.

My mom comes into the room, finding me dumping my school books out of my backpack and packing my clothes. She asks, “What are you doing? You have to get to school.”

I reply, “I am. I’m going to Hogwarts!”

Needless to say, I was not happy to find out otherwise. My mom trying to do something nice for me turned out to be quite the opposite.
